How to Get Help
Help is available. Call the toll-free National Domestic
Violence Hotline: (800) 799-SAFE (7233). From all
50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and
the U.S. Virgin Islands, victims of domestic violence,
their families and friends receive crisis intervention,
referrals to shelters, medical care, legal assistance
and social-service programs. Trained counselors who
speak more than 125 languages are available.
